This smoothie was honestly created out of the ingredients I had on hand today when looking to make a smoothie for lunch. I wanted some good protein and nutrients to give me solid energy for the rest of the day, and a smoothie is a great way to pack a ton of nutrients into one meal, while also giving your digestive system a break (which in turn equals more energy for you!). I included the pineapple for a little sweetness and those naturally occurring enzymes, chia seeds to add some more bulk to mix and provide me with a super serving of fiber and healthy fat, and spirulina for it’s nutritional and cleansing properties.
While it might look “murky”, it is quite delish! Feel free to throw in any extras you love in your smoothies and share below!
1 cup kale
1/2 cup pineapple
1 cup (approx.) unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 tbsp spirulina
1 tbsp chia seeds
2 scoops (1 serving) chocolate protein powder (either from good sources of whey or plant protein).
1. Add Kale pineapple and 1/2 almond milk to blender.
2. Add spirulina, protein powder, and chia seeds, and top with remainder of almond milk.
3. Blend everything together until smooth, adding more milk as needed/ desired.
Enjoy the sweetness while knowing you’re getting a nice punch of nutrients!
