This time of year is the perfect time to start incorporating heartier and more grounding foods that help warm up your body, support your digestion, and keep you feeling energized, comforted, and nourished.
And if you’re a fan of smoothies you’ll definitely want to make some swaps and incorporate warmer foods to help your body fully thrive during the cooler months. When you continue consuming light, cold smoothies and food, you will not only disrupt your digestion but you may also experience feelings of anxiety, agitation, and chaos.
One ingredient I like to mix into my smoothie repertoire come the fall months is rolled oats. It helps warm up and thicken the smoothie while adding in a healthy dose of fiber and protein.
Check out this great Oatmeal Cinnamon Smoothie that’s hearty enough for breakfast and sweet enough for dessert <3
1/4 frozen banana
1/2 apple (of choice)
2 tsp chia seeds
1/4 cup organic rolled oats
1-2 tbsp almond butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
5-7 drops liquid stevia
1 cup almond milk
Add all of the ingredients into the blender except for the almond milk and ice. Add ice and then mix in the almond milk, adding more as needed.
Sprinkle on a healthy topping of choice like pumpkin seeds, gluten-free granola, walnuts, dried cherries, etc.
